Do teachers require a Mac Book? | Education Reference

Query by psych23232323: Do teachers need a Mac Book?
I want to get into teaching and am already substituting. I seen the schools I substituted at use Mac computer systems and Mac Books but I also seen that some teachers who have their laptops in their classrooms use Mac Books.

Is it needed that teachers have Mac Books to train particular lessons, applications, and so forth? Do you get a discount for a Mac Book if you happen to be a teacher?

Very best answer:

Answer by Reem
Definitely not, you do not want a macbook to be a instructor or a great teacher, you don?t even need to have a standard lap leading, I have a couple of instructor buddies and none of them owns a lap best.

What do you believe? Solution beneath!

EU official: Greece needs extra euro15 billion (AP)

BRUSSELS ? Greece's international debt inspectors have discovered that the debt-ridden country still needs an extra euro15 billion ($20 billion) in help ? on top of a promised euro130 billion bailout and a euro100 billion debt relief from private investors, a European official said Thursday.

The European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union, has asked the other 16 countries that also use the euro to help foot the bill for the missing euro15 billion, the official said, indicating that a limit has been reached of what can be achieved by Athens implementing further cuts and private investors taking losses on the bonds they hold in the country.

The gap could be filled either though more help from eurozone governments or by eurozone central banks or state-owned banks like France's Caisse de Depots taking a cut on their Greek bondholdings, the official said. He was speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

The new push for Greece's public and government creditors to take a cut on their investments ? dubbed the official sector involvement, or OSI ? is a new front in the battle to save the country from a potentially devastating default. So far the eurozone and the International Monetary Fund have given billions in bailout loans to the struggling country, but they haven't been asked to take losses.

The official added that a related deal with private creditors to take losses on their holdings has to be announced before the end of the week, adding that experts from national finance ministries will discuss the tentative deal on Friday.

People familiar with the talks on so-called private sector involvement ? or PSI ? have said that the deal would see investors take losses of more than 70 percent through a 50 per cent cut in the value of the bonds, a lower interest rate of between 3.5 per cent and 4.5 per cent on the bond and more time to pay back the debt.

Analysts estimate that the European Central Bank holds euro50 billion to euro55 billion in Greek bonds. The majority of these bonds were bought at a discount by the ECB, with the idea that the central bank would up give up any profits it may get on these holdings. However, the ECB has so far given no indication that it is willing to do so, with some of its governing board members saying that forgoing profits would clash with the bank's ban on funding national governments.

If eurozone states are unwilling to boost their bailout loans beyond euro130 billion, some relief for Greece could be achieved by further lowering interest rates on these loans.

Where To Purchase Your Camping Equipment | New Health and ...

New Health And Fitness.Org - Health Information You Can Use

Do you like to go camping? Do you go with friends or family and do you help with the planning? If so, then you almost certainly already have a lot of the items you require, but as you doubtless already know, there is always something you have to purchase for each trip. If you are planning your first trip, then it is to be hoped that this short piece will give you some tips.

In fact, there are quite a few sources of camping gear. Some offer better value for money than others, some offer low quality gear and others offer high quality at high prices. The trick is to be somewhere in the middle, where you can get decent quality equipment which is fit for purpose at the right cost and this is what we will help you to do.

One of the first points to comprehend, and it is very helpful to understand this , is that a camper has to have camping gear, ie the tent, sleeping bag, et cetera and camping supplies, ie food, insect repellent et cetera. It is practical to realize the difference because some camping stores sell both gear and supplies, whereas others only sell one or the other.

Starting with camping gear. You can buy camping gear on line at dedicated camping stores, at department stores and at eBay and Amazon. The trick here is to do some research first to find out what is the best of what you require and how much it costs and then to go searching on line for that particular device manufactured by that particular manufacturer. You will absolutely save money by purchasing on line, but you have to be more careful of copies.

Army and Navy Surplus stores are pretty decent too. After all, if it is good enough for our fighting forces it is not going to fall apart the first time it rains or blows a bit. I have always found it difficult to come out of an army and navy store without buying anything, even if they did not have what I went in there for. I always end up buying a new compass or a knife or some other gadget.

Department stores are next and you can pick up good deals out of season, otherwise they tend to be costly and you have to be wary of not purchasing ?kiddies gear? meant for use in the back garden by mistake. Sports stores and dedicated camping stores are normally very reliable, selling the best gear at the top prices.

Now on to camping supplies. To be honest, what do you eat while camping that you do not eat at home each week? Moose, squirrel, possum, deer? Well, you are not going to take that with you anyway, are you, so you may as well get your camping supplies from your favourite supermarket.

Or you can go to the camping shop and pay over the odds for ?specialist foods? and ?survival rations?, but again, to be honest, you would be better off buying things like that either on line or at the Army and Navy store again. If you want to test some of these army rations, it can be fun, but get them at knock-down prices from the A&N.

Israel's Netanyahu wins new party mandate (Reuters)

JERUSALEM (Reuters) ? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has won a new mandate to head his right-wing Likud party, defeating an ultranationalist challenger opposed to any land-for-peace deal with Palestinians.

Initial results published on Wednesday after voting held a day earlier showed Netanyahu captured a resounding majority of party ballots in a poll that some political commentators said could be a harbinger to an early general election ahead of a U.S. presidential vote this year.

Israel's next national vote is due in late 2013.

With opinion polls showing Likud on course for victory, holding the ballot earlier could put Netanyahu in a better position to deal with what many Israelis believe will be pressure from Barack Obama for peace concessions should the Democrat win a second term in November.

"I thank you all for the confidence and renewed support you have given me," Netanyahu said in a victory speech in Tel Aviv, as initial results showed him way ahead of his sole rival, far-right settler, Moshe Feiglin.

"Together we shall continue to lead the nation," Netanyahu said. "We have proven the Likud is a strong and united movement."

Yigal Movermacher, a party spokesman, said a tally of some 40 percent of ballots showed Netanyahu had won 80 percent and that official results would be published later on Wednesday.

Feiglin polled about 20 percent, similar to his 24 percent showing in their last contest in 2007, initial results showed.

He had had little chance of unseating Netanyahu but had hoped to provide a voice for settlers in the party opposed to Israel giving up land they see as a biblical birthright for peace.

In an interview with Reuters, Feiglin said he advocated Israeli annexation of West Bank land captured in a 1967 war, and the provision of financial incentives to encourage Palestinians to leave.

U.S.-sponsored peace talks stalled shortly after they began in 2010 in a dispute over settlement building in the occupied West Bank.

Exploratory talks in Jordan between Israeli and Palestinian negotiators in recent weeks ended in deadlock without any agreement to restart full negotiations.

While Netanyahu has not said he wanted an early general election, "he prefers to lead and not be dragged there," Likud legislator Danny Danon told Reuters.

In his speech, Netanyahu said "there is time yet" before any national vote would be held, leaving the door open for further political maneuvers. Campaign aide Haim Bibas said Netanyahu would decide if to seek an early vote over the next two months.

The Likud poll will be followed by a Kadima primary election on March 27. Both Kadima and the left-of-centre Labour party have been actively recruiting popular figures, and some influential wild cards, such as former journalist Yair Lapid, have thrown their hats into the electoral ring as well.

Mexican official flies with $1.9M in luggage (AP)

VERACRUZ, Mexico ? A Mexican state official was detained as he got off a government-owned plane with $1.9 million crammed into a briefcase and a backpack, prosecutors announced Monday, touching off allegations of campaign finance violations tied to the upcoming presidential election.

Tomas Ruiz, treasury secretary for Veracruz state, said there was nothing illicit about the money the official was carrying. He said the cash, from state coffers, was destined for a Mexico City advertising firm that agreed to promote festivals to attract tourists to the eastern coastal state, including a well-known carnival in the port city of Veracruz.

Ruiz said the Veracruz government had state official Miguel Morales Robles carry the cash payment on a special flight to Toluca airport outside Mexico City because the advertising work needed to be delivered quickly.

Federal prosecutors said a second state official, Said Zepeda, was briefly detained Friday when he showed up at the airport to demand the release of his colleague and the money.

The two officials were released because there was no evidence they violated any law, but the money remains in prosecutors' custody.

Federal prosecutors said they were trying to confirm the money was from state coffers as part of the investigation. Ruiz said he had sent them documentation.

Veracruz state is governed by the Institutional Revolutionary Party, whose presumptive presidential candidate is considered the front-runner in the July election.

The Democratic Revolution Party, one of the PRI's two main competitors, charged that the money was meant to fuel a secret advertising budget for PRI candidate Enrique Pena Nieto.

The PRI has made strenuous efforts to rebrand itself as a law-abiding and transparent party that has left behind the legacy of corruption that marked much of its seven decades of autocratic rule, which ended with the 2000 presidential election.

Mexico has strict limits on the amounts of money that can be spent on political campaigns ? the PRI's presidential candidate will be limited to spending 495 million pesos ($38.4 million) for the entire campaign.

Political rivals routinely accuse each other of violating the limits, but electoral regulators rarely bring cases to prosecutors.

"We have before us, without a doubt, a diversion of state resources for the presidential candidate of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, Enrique Pena Nieto," the national leadership committee of the Democratic Revolution party said in a statement.

Ruiz strenuously denied that.

"The payment was in cash because of the rush," he told the news station Radio Formula when asked why he hadn't sent an electronic transfer.

With the start presidential campaign season in Mexico, government and party officials are warning about the potential for organized crime to get involved in campaigns and debating how to prevent that.

Prosecutors wouldn't say if the money from Veracruz could possibly be linked to drug trafficking.

President Felipe Calderon last fall said that Veracruz, a state racked by drug violence, had been left in the hands of the Zetas drug cartel before he sent federal troops to restore order.

The state now is the center of a fierce battle between the Zetas and the Sinaloa cartel, Mexico's two most power drug trafficking organizations. Former Gov. Fidel Herrera was acccused of being aligned with the Zetas, a charge he often denied.
